This is awsome

My son had to wait for this for a while because it is rather expensive. It was worth the wait. This is so cool. It goes forward, left, right, back, and can dive. The remote can be used in the water, so he swims right beside it. The rechargable battery last about 1 hour, but AAs will last longer and it come with both the rechargeable and a pack for the AA. This toy gets lots of notice.
Innovative and fun.

This is toy submarine disguised as a fish. The body twist is quite innovative and looks realistic enough in water. The waterproofing is decent. The battery requirement is modest. It is not bullet-proof, of course, as it is ultimately just a pool toy. The greatest concern has to be preventing water from getting into the electronic compartment, but so far I have not had any problem there. On the other hand, I fly model airplanes and helicopters in spare time, so my expectation on the longevity of the model may have been lower than that of an average consumer.

The propeller runs on four AA batteries or the equivalent rechargeable pack. There is not enough power to get the shark to high speed. But this is not a torpedo and racing is not the point. Sneaking up on unsuspecting victims and startling them with a r/c fish that looks real is great fun to little boys of any age.

By the way, the main battery uses a 2-pin JST connector, which is also common among 7.4V 2-cell Lithium-Polymer batteries used for R/C helicopters. I try an 800mAH one originally for E-Sky LAMA V4 RTF Coaxial Remote Controlled Helicopter (Blue Color) and it fits perfectly. This battery is similar to 7.4V 850mAh 15C High Rate Li-Poly LIPO Battery Pack for ESKY LAMA V4 Micro Helicopter, but I think any 7.4V Li-Po with JST and under 57mm long will work just fine.
Best Pool Toy Ever!

I bought this for my 8 year old son to use in hotel swimming pools when we travel. He absolutely loves it! It is amazing how the shark navigates through the water, and has a realistic look to it as the joints move and it dives under water and resurfaces. Everywhere we have used it, adults and children both have to stop and check it out.

My only suggestion would be that the company include some extra screws - they are very tiny and soft. I stripped the head of one the first time we removed the cover to let the battery compartment dry off after use.
Water FUN ! The kids scream their heads off

R/C Technology has come a long way and is a lot cheaper than it used to be. I have only used this unit at the pool; I don't think it was designed for anywhere else. The kids will have a ball taking turns chasing each other around the pool with it. Battery life was much better than I expected for such a very heavy toy. They rechargeable battery has never stopped working with continuous use aprx. 20-30 min it never lost its charge. It is realistic looking in water except for where the sections are joined together and prop/guard red/blue. Your kids will scream in fear lol!

Pros:
1. Eyes light up red adding to the thrill.
2. Tail section can swish back and forth will diving deep or heading to the surface.
3. Bank left or right up/down.
4. Forward and reverse.
5. Able to skim along the bottom, middle or top of the water.
6. Remote is submersible, simple and well laid out, 3-channel throttle (forward/reverse) on right.
7. Safe prop I let even the little ones play with it.
8. Charges in a couple of hrs.
9. Battery compartment remains completely dry.

Cons:
1. Battery has to be removed for charging. (a big draw back in my opinion)
2. Transmitter non rechargeable (9volt batt. Not included)
3. Expensive (unless you get it on a Gold Box deal!)
4. Sections of shark/ prop etc not all same color as body.

Note: After each use I inspect the battery compartments for leakage. I leave battery covers off to retain shape of rubber seals (I use silicone based jelly on seal not Vaseline like manual say's working with rubber seals in the past I found that oil based lubricants deteriorates some types of rubber seals ). Removing and replacing (a few turns at a time) the screws in a rotating pattern to prevent stress and create even pressure on seal. If you want something to last a long time, act like you will never get another one (even though it's just a toy).
Great pool toy!

This R/C Shark works great. My seven year old son had no problem manuvering it throughout the pool. It seems a little fragile to let young kids manipulate it out of the water, but has worked great since I bought it. The only thing I would improve is the rechargable battery's life, 30 minutes or so after a full charge doesn't seem like enough, but at least you can use regular AA bateries if need be. Overall I recommend this toy.
